About

The Apple Macintosh 12" RGB Display was introduced on the 15th of October 1990 together with the Macintosh IIsi.
It was for sale for 2 years, until it was discontinued on the 19th of October 1992.

The display offers full RGB colours, up to 24-bit if the computer connected to it supports it.

Maintenance log

  • 2020/10 - The monitor arcs inside, once every 30 minutes on average (up to 8+ hours without any arcing sounds). The sound is moderate to low, there is video distortion for about ~4 lines (horizontal, <5ms total) when this happens. Opened up the device but no clear culpit can be found. Cleaned the tube (dust) and inspected the anode, but all looked well. Might need Flyback replacement at some point
